Monday, January 6th

Today was a much better day.  Here we are in the Florida Keys!  We left the Everglades early this morning and headed to the Keys.  As usual, we had no plans of where we were going to stay.  We thought we would pick one of the first campgrounds and then just drive to Key West in the truck.  Well after the visitor center stop, we ended up making a reservation for the night at a KOA campground at mile marker 20.  (Mile marker 0 is the end.  And the whole Key Area is 100 miles long!)  As soon as we arrived, we checked out the swim/beach area.  We are on the ocean side even though it doesn't look like it in the pictures.  Garrett had fun trying to get up that climbing thing. I even got out there to help him because he couldn't quite keep his foot up there.  The water wasn't tooooooo cold!  The kids had fun catching little itty-bitty hermit crabs.  We spent time at the beach and then moved to the swimming pool.  Both of which are very close to our camp site!  This place is great. We even played bingo tonight here at the campground and that was fun.    **Sara
