Today Grandma, Garrett, Audree and I went to the cranberry marsh.  It was awesome! The cranberries grow on a vine about a foot high.  They flood the fields during harvest time because the berries float.  They use a machine that goes through the bed to knock off the cranberries off the vine and then the flooding and floating makes it easier to gather them into the machine that sorts out the water, debris, and berries into the semi trucks.  Did you know: there are only 3 fruits native to North America;  blueberries, Concorde Grapes, and of course cranberries.  Wisconsin is the Number One producer of cranberries in the world!  And we just thought they were famous for their cheese!  :)
