Tuesday, March 18th

Today we went to Hoover Dam, which began construction on April 20th 1931. It isn't like Wolford's Dam. We drove over the Dam and parked on the other side. We then walked to the Tour Center. We went on a tour of the Dam. We first went down to a level where a pipe is big enough for two semi trucks to drive side by side. Hoover Dam is about as thick as it is tall at the base of the dam. Afterwards we went to the generator room. They produce enough hydroelectric power to supply power to a million people. After we left the Dam we drove through Vegas to Mesquite, NV.

Monday, March 17th

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Always the day after my bday!  Ha!  Onward west into California today and then Nevada for yet 2 more states.  Two of the last couple I'm afraid.  The trip is winding down.  :(   We are at the Hoover Dam tonight and we will tour it in the morning.  We are basically parked at a truck stop, but look at this awesome semi truck in here next to us.   We have been fortunate to see all of these our our trip.  In case you can't tell what the pics are:  Vietnam Wall Memorial, The Arlington Cemetary, Iwo Jima Memorial, and 9/11 Twin Towers.  Powerful words.....on a truck!  On the back it says, "Freedom is never free."

Sunday, March 16th. Someone's birthday???

Ok, it's my birthday!  It was a great - do nothing day.  Garrett made me muffins for breakfast.  He wanted to serve me breakfast in bed but I said let's eat outside!  We were right on the water, the Colorado River, that is.... but it sure looks like a lake there.  Jeff put together his (didn't I say it was MY birthday?) new bike.  I think Garrett will be fighting him for it!  I mostly sat around and read my book.  On the last few chapters of the last Divergent book!  Garrett keeps reminding me the 1st movie comes out this Friday!!  Oh I got to take a nap too.  :)   Both kids made me a present as well as bought me one.  We went out for Mexican food and that about wraps it up!  It was a great day!       **Sara

Saturday, March 15th

ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!!  Isn't that how the song goes?!   We left Sun City this morning and drove even further west.  We are in Lake Havasu City on the Arizona/California border at a state park.  We are right on the beach even though we're in an overflow spot with no hookups.  It's great!  We went into town to see the London Bridge.  The bridge was literally in London and was purchased by an Americn man, taken apart, and brought to Lake Havasu City in 1968. It was to symbolize the relationship between England and the United States of America.
Back to the camper to watch the sun go down.  It's pretty here!!                **Sara

P.S. Just got the pics for the last couple days to post

Friday, March 14th

Today my parents closed up their little home here in Sun City and headed back to Colorado to finish getting their house in Golden ready to sell.  We sure had a great 3 weeks with them!!!!

Just after arriving in Sun City, we tried to rent a car, so I would have a car while Jeff went back home for a few weeks.  Because of Spring Training, it was literally going to cost a fortune to rent one for 3 weeks, so we ended up buying one.  Jeff's mom in Michigan needs a car so it'll probably end up with her.  Well we didn't want to have 2 cars to drive around on our last week or so of the trip, so our  awesome managers rode back to Phoenix with Jeff last night so they can drive our 'new' (HA HA) car home!  Both kids were very surprised and happy to see them; we had kept it a secret!  So this morning after getting my parents on the road, we had breakfast with Karen and Janice, and then they took off.  We just relaxed the rest of the day and enjoyed the pool at the campground---that we had not yet been in.

My Vacation From Vacation

Mom didn't mention this, but maybe you noticed I wasn't in any of the last post's pictures. The reason why is because I wasn't in Sun City, I wasn't in Arizona, I wasn't even in the United States!  I was in Mexico!!  You know my friend Fisher that I was with a week and a half ago? Well, his family invited me to go along to Mexico for their spring break. Mom dropped me off on Monday morning and we drove in a hot, huge van for about three hours. When you go into Mexico they don't even check passports. Out of the duration of the trip down an hour and a half was in Mexico. We didn't go to the beach the first night. The next three days we played on the beach, swam in the pool, and ate good food. The trip went fast. On Thursday, went back into the USA and headed to their house.  It was a great vacation from vacation!!!
