The Final Posts!! :)

This trip was the best time of my life so far. I loved it a lot because I got to spend time with my family. I also got to visit my family that live in other states. My favorite place was New York City. All the lights, traffic and people. DC was my second favorite place because the education was good to know. Living in the camper was ok but at times it got small. I had a fun time at Disney World, on the beaches, and playing in all the different pools. After 6 months I was ready to be back to Kremmling to play with my friends and sleep in my bed.

“The Big Trip,” as it is called to me was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I won't know how special it really is until I get older and I will be more grateful for the trip. My favorite place was New York City. I felt like I could live there some day, at least for a while.  During the whole trip I just wanted to get to Florida so I could swim in the ocean. When we eventually got to Florida, the water wasn’t very warm at all. That was a bummer, but it was ok in the end. I finally got to swim in the ocean in Mexico with my friends. The history that we learned would fill up 5 text books. That just shows how much we learned. It was so fun just being with my family constantly for a long period of time. It was also really awesome seeing everyone that we saw. Am I glad that I am home? Yes, but no. I missed the house and a few friends, but I am sad that our family doesn’t get to spend as much time together as we did on the trip. I hope that everyone enjoyed the blog.

Wow, where do I start?  The last 6 months have been an incredible experience.  God truly blessed our family to be able to make this trip.  The best part by far was spending all this time together.  Even living in the small space for so long was not bad at all.  It was a trip that I will treasure forever.  I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!I  I would like to thank all the blog followers we had during our adventure.  It was fun to read your comments about our craziness!
To Dennis, Shawn and Jeff Nash – Thank you for helping to keep things running smoothly in the businesses.
To Karen and Janice -- Thank you for all you did to make this trip possible for us and for “keeping the ship afloat!”  J  We appreciated it more than words can describe.
And, to my wonderful husband, Jeff – Thank you for having the vision and the guts to do this.  I love you!                           **Sara

Well, all good things must come to end. That’s an understatement on what’s transpired over the last 6 months. What an amazing trip. We couldn’t have done it without our great staff back in Kremmling taking care of our businesses. It was a superior performance, kudos to them.
It was nice to see old friends on our trip, thanks for the opening up your homes to the Miller family and making our time with you special. And to our new friends. Wow, it’s always nice to make new friends. Looking forward to the continued friendships with all of you in the years to come. Thanks to the long lost relatives that we had the opportunity to meet for the first time or forty plus years. It’s so easy to drift away over the years. Life has definitely changed from when I was a kid. It seemed that we always had aunts, uncles and cousins coming to visit each summer. So if you have the opportunity, reach out to your to kin folk. Life is truly short.
To our MillersAmazingTrip blogspot followers, thank you so much for your comments. We truly enjoyed having you with us on our trip. For the rest of you that followed us, hopefully we inspired you to maybe one day do something like this one day with your family. For me it was probably one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life. Thirty six states, nearly 17,000 miles, cost priceless.                                   ^Jeff

Monday, March 24th

We are HOME safe and sound.  It feels weird but good!  We had to squeeze in one last thing this morning.......one more round of golf at Beaver Dam.  Another beautiful day on the golf course!  Well, we are each going to write a little paragraph to officially bring the trip to an end.  So check back in a day or so and that will be the end of Miller's Amazing Trip.

Sunday, March 23rd

Today we went to Valley of Fire State Park in Nevada.  It is such a great place to crawl around and climb on these awesome sandstone rocks.  The kids love climbing into the holes in the rock.  We've been here before and loved it then too.  We took a hike around this loop.  They had filmed a western movie back in the 60s there.  After a picnic lunch, we took a drive into Vegas to go to M&Ms World to get our chocolate fix.  It was an absolutely perfect beautiful day for our last outing of our trip.  .  Homeward bound we go.      **Sara

Saturday, March 22nd

So today we went into our last state of the trip.  That makes 36 states in all!  We went into Utah to Saint George to rides bikes.  It was a great little ride!  Then a little basketball and volleyball at a nearby park.  At the pool yesterday, we ran into Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Nanda (former principal and teacher from kids' school) and their families, so this afternoon we visited with them.  It was so nice to see them all!  We came back to the camper and ended the night with a game of Monopoly.  One of our last nights!  :(

Friday, March 21st

More of the same fun stuff today, so thought we would share some funny things with you.  Here are the most common phrases we said to each other during this trip.

Audree  "I didn't mean to!"
Garrett  "When are we eating?"
Jeff  "What happened?"
Sara  "Hey you guys!!"

Thursday, March 20th

So life is pretty tough to take here in Mesquite, NV.  Sunny and warm!!  Golf and swimming.  Pretty tough to take.  HA!  We found a golf course today with some green grass.  It is the same place we had gone for spring break last year and loved it.  This one is in Beaver Dam, AZ.    Tonight, Garrett and I were very lucky and were able to go see the movie Divergent (from the book series), even though it wasn't supposed to come out until tomorrow.   It was SO good!    **Sara

Wednesday, March 19th

We finally went golfing today at the Coyote Willows Golf Course!!!!!!!!!  I have been waiting for this day for the whole trip.  We went to the driving range to take some practice swings to get warmed up. Then we went to the golf course and played nine holes. I had a blast. It was nice and sunny out. When we got back to the campground we went swimming. The water was freezing but the hot tub was fine.

Tuesday, March 18th

Today we went to Hoover Dam, which began construction on April 20th 1931. It isn't like Wolford's Dam. We drove over the Dam and parked on the other side. We then walked to the Tour Center. We went on a tour of the Dam. We first went down to a level where a pipe is big enough for two semi trucks to drive side by side. Hoover Dam is about as thick as it is tall at the base of the dam. Afterwards we went to the generator room. They produce enough hydroelectric power to supply power to a million people. After we left the Dam we drove through Vegas to Mesquite, NV.

Monday, March 17th

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Always the day after my bday!  Ha!  Onward west into California today and then Nevada for yet 2 more states.  Two of the last couple I'm afraid.  The trip is winding down.  :(   We are at the Hoover Dam tonight and we will tour it in the morning.  We are basically parked at a truck stop, but look at this awesome semi truck in here next to us.   We have been fortunate to see all of these our our trip.  In case you can't tell what the pics are:  Vietnam Wall Memorial, The Arlington Cemetary, Iwo Jima Memorial, and 9/11 Twin Towers.  Powerful words.....on a truck!  On the back it says, "Freedom is never free."

Sunday, March 16th. Someone's birthday???

Ok, it's my birthday!  It was a great - do nothing day.  Garrett made me muffins for breakfast.  He wanted to serve me breakfast in bed but I said let's eat outside!  We were right on the water, the Colorado River, that is.... but it sure looks like a lake there.  Jeff put together his (didn't I say it was MY birthday?) new bike.  I think Garrett will be fighting him for it!  I mostly sat around and read my book.  On the last few chapters of the last Divergent book!  Garrett keeps reminding me the 1st movie comes out this Friday!!  Oh I got to take a nap too.  :)   Both kids made me a present as well as bought me one.  We went out for Mexican food and that about wraps it up!  It was a great day!       **Sara

Saturday, March 15th

ON THE ROAD AGAIN!!!  Isn't that how the song goes?!   We left Sun City this morning and drove even further west.  We are in Lake Havasu City on the Arizona/California border at a state park.  We are right on the beach even though we're in an overflow spot with no hookups.  It's great!  We went into town to see the London Bridge.  The bridge was literally in London and was purchased by an Americn man, taken apart, and brought to Lake Havasu City in 1968. It was to symbolize the relationship between England and the United States of America.
Back to the camper to watch the sun go down.  It's pretty here!!                **Sara

P.S. Just got the pics for the last couple days to post
